As the vibrant community of the Western Academy of Beijing, we are thrilled to announce the 2025 WAB Film Festival. This is your stage, your moment to shine, and a unique opportunity to showcase your talent, passion, and vision to the world!

  • PRESTIGIOUS JURORS: Your work will be evaluated by experts from the film industry. It's a chance to get noticed and to improve your craft. Feedback from these jurors will surely help you further develop your film making skills.

  • COMMUNITY AND FUN: This is more than a competition; it's a celebration of art, creativity, and community. Enjoy the process, the collaborate, and have fun!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

ELIGIBILITY: OPEN TO ALL WAB STUDENTS.

  1. GENRES: All genres are welcome – from documentaries to animations, from drama to comedy.

  2. FILM LENGTH: Films should be between 3-10 minutes in length.

  3. ORIGINALITY: Create original, thought-provoking, and engaging content.

  4. MUSIC: You must use copyright-free music or compose your own original music for your film. Scroll down for more information.

  5. DEADLINE: Submissions must be received by May 3rd, Friday, 2025. Please personally deliver to Mr. Patrik Izing, HUB 6203. Use the highest quality possible when you export your project.

Our Jurors

  • Kees van Oostrum

    HEAD JUROR

    As a cinematographer, Kees van Oostrum has realised an eclectic range of some 60 credits, including Emmy award-winning movies for television and cinema.

  • Daniel Avila

    SPECIAL GUEST JUROR

    Mr. Avila s our amazing Visual Arts and G9 Film teacher. Mr. Avila used to teach DP film in Shanghai and is currently teaching G9 Film at WAB.
